Presentation
The General Directorate for Strategic Projects and External Promotion was created in September 2023 , reporting to the Mayor's Office of the Zaragoza City Council. Since then, this governing body has been carrying out a series of responsibilities:
- Promote strategic projects of preferential local interest as well as their monitoring and execution by the different competent areas.
- The preparation, coordination, development and monitoring of a strategic plan for the external promotion of the city, as well as the attraction of investments that enhance and contribute to its promotion.
- Promote and coordinate in a transversal way the actions aimed at the external promotion of the city of Zaragoza, both nationally and internationally.
- Coordinate the relations of the city of Zaragoza with other cities, as well as municipal actions in the networks of cities in which the City Council participates.
Mission
The General Directorate of Strategic Projects and Foreign Projection aims to create a permanent municipal structure to promote the attraction of talent and investment, ensuring the transversal coordination of projects with a city and territory perspective, contributing to the image of Zaragoza, at a national and international level. that reverts to the generation of wealth for all citizens.
Objectives
The objectives of the General Directorate of Strategic Projects and Foreign Projection are directly linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially with SDG 11, related to ensuring that cities and human settlements are inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. Likewise, the goals of this office are in consonance and harmony with the objectives included in the Spanish Urban Agenda, as well as in the Strategic Plan for External Projection of Zaragoza 2022-2030.
- Generate a portfolio of Strategic Projects -Attract Companies, Investments, Students, Researchers and Entrepreneurs
- Develop the Exterior Projection of the city through the Zaragoza brand
- Promote the cooperation of Zaragoza with other cities at a national and international level
- Coordinate Zaragoza's participation in city networks, at a national, European and international level
