Zaragoza will host the Annual Assembly of the Iberian Chapter of ICCA International Association of Congresses and Conventions in 2025

The city of Zaragoza has been chosen to organize the next edition of the Annual Assembly of the Iberian Chapter of ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association). In this year's edition held in Sitges, it has been announced that the venue for 2025 will be Zaragoza, and will gather in our city the members of the Iberian Chapter, more than 80 cities, offices of convention bureau, organizers of congresses and conventions of Portugal and Spain, being able to show you all that our city offers as a venue for events.

Zaragoza Congresos joined in October 2023 as a new member of ICCA which, with almost 1000 members spread over 90 countries around the world, is the most important network worldwide in the organization of congresses, and that allows its members to acquire and maintain a significant competitive advantage in business tourism (Congresses, Conventions, Conferences and Meetings).

At the last annual meeting of the Iberian chapter of the association, held in Sitges from 6 to 8 March, more than 100 members of the association participated, and very relevant topics were discussed in the present and future of the congresses in the world, as sustainability and the legacy that congresses and conventions have the obligation to leave in the cities hosting their events, the need to generate a new culture of events and face-to-face congresses, the relationship of the congresses with the cities and citizens where they are held, among others.

Congress tourism or MICE tourism has an annual impact in Zaragoza of 83.5 million euros, according to the impact report prepared annually by the University of Zaragoza for Zaragoza Tourism. It is an essential sector for an urban tourist destination to become an international reference, and Zaragoza wants to become the next emerging MICE tourism destination in Spain and Europe.
