The history of Zaragoza has left its imprint on the character of our city, but the chapter of our history that left an everlasting mark was undoubtedly the Siege of Zaragoza.

The people of Zaragoza offered heroic resistance against the invasion of Napoleonic troops between 1808 and 1809. The two terrible sieges converted our capital into a battlefield and its marks can still be seen in the 21st century Zaragoza.
Thanks to the collaboration of the Los Sitios Cultural Association a very interesting visit is offered to the most emblematic places of the Siege of Zaragoza.

The Sieges of Zaragoza, together with the resistance of the rest of the Spanish people to the French invader, represented an exacerbated proof of the patriotic pride of some people who defended their own against what was imposed.

The Aragón Volunteers Association carries out historical re-enactment activities related to the War of Independence every year. Every two years, the pairs carry out a great recreation of The Sieges of Zaragoza.
