EMOZ – ORIGAMI MUSEUM OF ZARAGOZA

The School-Museum is located on the top floor of the Centro de Historias.

The building has been designed in agreement with the old ground plan of the convent church, of which only the crypt and façade remain today. The Baroque façade and its bell-tower, from the beginning of the 18th century, have been enabled as the main entrance to the Centre from San Agustin square. The original elements, including its decorative and heraldic motifs, have been preserved as much as possible during the restoration. On the other hand, the preserved space of the crypt of the old church, in basement 1 of the building, is also incorporated. Thus, the main nave of the Centre is developed between the historical façade and the crypt.

La collection

The collection housed in the School-Museum has been achieved due to the perseverance of the members of the group, thanks to the relations established by them over its more than sixty years of history.
The friendship with greater folders: Akira Yoshizawa, Yoshihide Momotani, Eric Joisel, Vicent Floderer and many others has permitted gathering together in one single place, the best set of origami works in the world.
The shared correspondence, the international meetings and the exhibitions held have been key elements for the Zaragoza Origami Group and its members, by means of acquisitions and donations, to fill the rooms of the School-Museum with high quality works.
