Renfe Operadora, a public business entity attached to the Ministry of Development, has the mission of providing passenger and freight transport services under the principle of safety, with criteria of quality, efficiency, profitability and innovation, with a public service vocation and the objective of increasing the market share of the railway as the reference rail operator.

The Renfe group and its companies are based on four main lines of activity: passenger transport and marketing of associated products in metropolitan, regional, national and international environments (Renfe Voyageurs), freight transport and logistics services (Renfe Goods), maintenance and industrial work (Renfe Manufacturing and Maintenance) and management of rolling stock available to the market (Renfe Rental Railway Equipment).
