We suggest you discover the incredible rural neighborhood of Cartuja Baja, one of the most unique in Zaragoza, located in what was originally the Cartuja de la Inmaculada Concepción.

What is special about La Cartuja Baja? Well, everything... Imagine that you get to live, with many more people, in an uninhabited monastery that has to be adapted for daily life.

This complex gave rise to a unique neighbourhood, since the galleries of the old cloisters have become very special streets (with arches, the openings of the vaults...); the large cloister, in which the Carthusian monks were buried, is today a park surrounded by green areas and facilities; the Hospedería del Cardenal, where famous people stayed, was a restaurant with an impressive wine cellar; small doors and half-hidden passages give way to a cloister where time has stopped; the refectory, the former dining room of the Carthusian monks, converted into an impressive theater... in short, one surprise after another.

Maybe you are thinking how to get there. By private car it takes a while, but you can also go on the bus 25 (it takes just over 15 minutes). If someone prefers, they can take the bus and get off at the Paseo de los platanos stop nº 10. The visit will start at 10:30 in front of the old goal.
