Zaragoza Goyesque Festival
Goyesque Festival of Zaragoza
The year was 1928 when the city of Zaragoza decided to honor the figure of its most illustrious countryman, Francisco de Goya y Lucientes.
On the occasion of the centenary of the painter's death, on April 16, 1828 in Bordeaux, the city of Zaragoza wanted to grant Goya a unique recognition: the commemoration of his greatness in his own home.
This is how the story of the celebration of Goya and Zaragoza was born, an inseparable union.
Goya festivities, the recovery of a tradition
Zaragoza has recovered those celebrations as a vindication of the love of this city and its inhabitants for the work and times of Goya.
All the events (Goyesque parade, Goya proclamation, live museum, workshops, videomapping and much more) are dedicated to allowing us to live those days in the time of Goya and Zaragoza at the end of the 18th century.
