This large riverside grove could be accessed by an old footbridge until 1965. It was here that Zaragozans celebrated the Cincomarzada holiday, and the woodcutters that chose the saw-mills of the Arrabal district used to stop off en route. The construction of the Santiago Bridge took up a quarter of the grove, and its subsequent landscaping, irrevocably altered its natural appearance, leaving only a row of trees alongside the river beyond the park fence.
