Casa Retuerta

This housing building was erected in one of the better-planned sectors within the urban expansion area of the city. The situation of the house in the angle of two streets is going to permit the architect, Juan Francisco Gomez Pulido, to concentrate his attention on the cant, which is solved categorically. On the façade, the modernism loses its ornamental character and takes on greater solidness and sobriety. The normal vegetable and floral motifs, which are concentrated on the cresting that finished off the building, completely disappear; the remaining decoration is based on a very attractive linear desing. It was declared a National Monument in 1983.
