In 1982-1983, during maintenance work on the Calle San Juan y San Pedro, the remains of a large pool belonging to some Roman public baths were discovered. This find was extented in 1990 with the discovery of latrines belonging to an earlier stage.

The public baths were situated in the centre of Caesaravgvsta, in the area between the Forum, and the Theatre. Of the various rooms which these installations were provided with, dressing rooms, hot, warm and cold rooms, gymnasium, etc. , the only remains still to be seen are those of some latrines with capacity for over 20 people (still used at the end of the 1st century AD), which were demolished so that, in the middle of the 1st century AD, a large porticoed pool could be built over them, for people to bathe in the open air.
