Unión Bridge
The General Urban Development Plan of 1986 included a previous study from 1978 on the Zaragoza Arterial Network, which stated the need to create more connecting roads between the right and left banks of the Ebro river Thus, the Puente de la Unión was born by Fomento de Obras y Construcciones S.A.
In 1987, it was decided to extend the Camino de las Torres towards Calle Marqués de la Cadena through this bridge.
It consists of two structures thus separating both directions of circulation. It is the only bridge whose deck does not rest on the riverbed. It is the work of engineer José Antonio Torroja.
