HISTORIC TOWN NEIGHBORHOOD

In the oldest neighborhood of the city we find numerous areas for tapas. The historic center of Zaragoza is the heart of local gastronomy, noted for its sustainability, its tradition and its avant-garde. Let's know these areas:

Santa Marta square area – San Pedro Nolasco

Near Plaza del Pilar, between the Salvador Cathedral and Calle Mayor, is Plaza Santa Marta, the epicenter of one of the most typical tapas areas in the city. This charming square full of tapas bars is transformed into a large gastronomic tasting terrace, where you can enjoy a day of vermouth in good company and in a better location. After some tapas and portions, we head towards Calle Mayor and head to the great Plaza San Pedro Nolasco, where the vegetation, spaciousness and monumental view accompany the pleasant terraces of the establishments that fill this emblematic space with life. the city.

Magdalena area

We return to Calle Mayor and look up to the right to see the beautiful Mudejar tower of the Magdalena church. We let ourselves be guided by this monumental tower to reach the next tapas area. Already in front of the cover of this beautiful church we direct our steps to Calle Estudios, where the traditional taverns specializing in cured meats (cheese, sausages and smoked meats) from Aragon are the protagonists.

We cross the plaza and Coso street to enter Heroísmo street, the central axis of the “Juepincho” celebration area. This emblematic pedestrian street in one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city stands out for its numerous and varied tapas bars, which offer endless tapas, portions, drinks and tastings that are made by the honeys of young people, tourists and locals every Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to enjoy a delicious festive atmosphere around local cuisine.

At its foot in the Plaza de San Miguel, and along the homonymous street, we find numerous traditional establishments and pleasant terraces where you can enjoy the Mudejar style of the singular tower. We now walk along Calle San Miguel to reach the Plaza de los Sitios, a beautiful square with well-cared spaces of floral vegetation and a monumental central fountain in honor of the Sitios de Zaragoza, surrounded by modern tapas and entertainment venues in the most sophisticated area. from the city.

Tube Zone

We go out to the street of the arena and we cross it towards the Southwest until we reach the Plaza España. We head back into the historic center, crossing Mártires, Cuatro de Agosto and Libertad streets, until we reach the well-known area of ​​El Tubo. Its name alludes to the character of its streets, narrow and elongated like tubes, where some of the oldest bars and taverns in the city are found. Its traditional, varied and avant-garde gastronomic offer makes this area one of the most attractive environments in the city.

CITY CENTER

Area Paseo Constitución- Francisco de Vitoria

We cross the Plaza de los Sitios, we go out to the Paseo Constitución and we cross to the other side of the avenue, where we find a long route of permanent terraces, in which the atmosphere never decays. The different places along the promenade extend the service of their terraces until nightfall and fill the promenade with a pleasant leisure atmosphere.

We go up Calle León XIII until we reach Francisco de Vitoria, a street with outstanding restaurants and avant-garde venues where you can enjoy the most modern tapas.

Area Plaza San Francisco and Pedro Cerbuna

We got on the tram in Plaza Aragón and arrived at Plaza San Francisco. In this elegant square, full of people, leisure and movement, the bars, breweries and typical restaurants stand out, whose endless terraces delight families who come to enjoy an afternoon of leisure in the square. Nearby, on Pedro Cerbuna street, parallel to the university campus, numerous bars and terraces are filled with young students looking for leisure, tapas, snacks.

On the other side of the University we find another tapas area where on Thursday nights the bars in the area have created the initiative "A night with Bruno, a night with chemistry" in which to continue enjoying tapas elaborated and traditional stews.
