Museo del Fuego y de los Bomberos

In 1998, an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Public Works and the City of Zaragoza, to carry out the rehabilitation of the building that houses the museum, ideal location because it is a building linked to the history of the fire department.
Originally, this building was Convento de la Victoria, of the order of minima San Francisco de Paula, founded in 1576. It will be in the nineteenth century with the confiscation of church property when the convent was suppressed and posted to various military and civilian applications as passers items barracks, schools, workshops or municipal fire station. The current building before rehabilitation was greatly transformed due to the many uses of which had been the subject, however it is noteworthy that preserves the core of the most important building, the cloistered courtyard.
The building that houses the museum, attached to area Fire Station No. 2, form a package which illustrates well the reality of firefighters, yesterday and the day to day now.

The exhibits in this exhibition space is the result of a compilation work over the years, through purchases, donations and items stored in the material itself Zaragoza Fire Department.
Throughout the show we look at the magnificent cloister courtyard, fire engines, pumps and pieces as interesting as the steam pump, which was a remarkable advancement for the time, as a means of extinction.
A room dedicated to the firefighters of the Fire Department of Zaragoza, shows the uniforms and some curios of these professionals, as his flag, embroidered in 1925.
Two other rooms, show related objects rescue and extinction, and a sample of helmets from different eras and countries.
