Edificio de Correos

The building is erected on the land where the old Pignatelli Theatre existed, which was demolished in 1915. The architect, Antonio Rubio, designs a piece of work which represents a late attempt to recover Mudejar forms, as shown on the main façada which opens onto the Paseo. The inner operations patio also maintains the same Neo-Mudejar inspired style in its decorative repertoire. The Telephone Company building, which is next to it, was built one year later in a very different style; both show varied architectonic tendencies, which exist side by side at the present time.
