The Zuda or Azuda, the headquarters of the Moslem governors, was raised on one of the towers of the Roman wall. After the reconquest, it was a residential palace of the Monarchs of Aragon, from Alfonso I el Batallador to Jaime I. The aspect that the tower offers in our days is the result of the restoration carried out by Francisco Iñiguez ( 1946-1952), who gave priority to the Renaissance stage over the previous ones.
