The Deputy Mayor of Zaragoza, Sara Fernández, closed on Friday the 7th Congress of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) held in Zaragoza and defended the city`s capacity to "effectively" adapt to the new situation and host events "joining forces between the public and private sectors".

For three days, this congress has brought together both in person and online professionals from different sectors for the seventh year in a row. With a vast programme of
workshops, conferences and round tables,
Spanish experts have focused on the need of companies to commit with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Fernández wanted to support this initiative and, in the closing ceremony, she explained how Zaragoza Convention Bureau continues to work "intensely" to be able to offer the best of their destination, despite the uncertainty of the moment.

"We face this moment of change by working on new aspects and by combining the public and the private sectors, an essential sum to respond effectively to the current situation, which has forced a rethinking and renewal of the previous models", she mentioned.

This way, Zaragoza Convention Bureau have renewed their webpage www.zaragozacongresos.es, and have implemented the tool Eventsost Key to develop customized sustainability plans for events according to the SDGs.

"We have been the first Convention Bureau in implementing this platform", Fernández recalled. She also announced their recent membership to the Aragonese Sustainable Tourism Cluster.

In this context, Zaragoza has hosted a new edition of the CSR Congress without sacrificing "meeting in person", for which it has counted with the "best scenario", the 16th century building of Caja Rural de Aragón, where this event was born more than a decade ago.

"Zaragoza Convention Bureau joins the purpose of the programme of this event; in these circumstances it is necessary to measure the impact of every event with recognized tools. This is the only way to show commitment and to position ourselves in the field of social responsibility and sustainability", she stated.

Through all these actions and the 2021 Marketing Plan of Zaragoza Convention Bureau, "the city wants to keep on being the leading destination that has always been due to the professionalism of its services, hospitality, and ability to surprise", she concluded.
