The Latin America Interlocal Network of Cities for Culture was created in March 2003 in Montevideo, Uruguay. It comprises 32 cities and territorial administrations from 16 Latin American cities. During the 2nd Forum of the network, it was agreed that both Zaragoza and the city of Escazú, Costa Rica, will co-chair the network.

Mayors for Peace.
It is an international association of cities that have formally expressed support for the program announced by Mr. Araki, Mayor of Hiroshima, in 1982. The main goal is to fight for banning nuclear weapons. Approximately one thousand cities in 114 countries support the network. The headquarters are in Hiroshima, Japan.
