PROGRAMS THE CITY OF ZARAGOZA TAKES PART IN

Concerto programme- 6th European Union Framework Programme- Renaissance Project

Concerto Program is an initiative of the EU to support local communities in the development of concrete efficient initiatives from the point of view of sustainable development and renewable energies. Those communities, co-financed by Concerto, will work to get a system able to integrate the use of renewable energies, innovative technologies, and systems to minimize energy consumption to improve the citizens quality of life.

Renaissance Project is an objective of Concerto Program to promote demonstrative projects in the field of energetic efficiency and renewable energies in urban communities, including housing and also buildings and facilities of the services sector. Actions will take place in Valdespartera and Picarral districts, focusing on putting into practice solutions related to energetic efficiency and renewable energies already tested in pilot projects but that find difficulties in being developed in a bigger scale, in Valdespartera and Picarral districts.
The cities of Bracknell, UK; Lyon, France; and Zaragoza, Spain, participate in the project.

6th EU Framework Programme: Switch Project

Switch Project is headed by UNESCO with the participation of the five continents. The aim is to carry out demonstrations related to saving and efficiency in the distribution of water. The project is developed in partnership with the Integral Water Cycle Service (Servicio del Ciclo Integral del Agua). A 30% of the budget is funded by EU.

Leonardo Program

Leonardo Program aims to promote a European space related to education and vocational training. One of the measures foreseen is to "support transnational mobility" of people, especially youth involved in professional training.

Agencia Internacional de Educaci?n

Four projects of European mobility subsidized by Leonardo Da Vinci Spanish National Agency and co-financed by Zaragoza Municipal Institute for Employment and Entrepreneurial Promotion as promoter, have been approved.

 

  • "Learning Environmental New Trends in Europe" for 65 beneficiaries and 5 supervisors.
  • "Developing Practical Knowledge and competences in the Industrial Sector" for 60 beneficiaries and 5 supervisors.
  • "Training young people to strengthen traditional skills" for 63 beneficiaries and 5 supervisors.
  • "Developing Students skills in Tourism Catering Trade" for 57 beneficiaries and 5 supervisors.
 
 

Youth Program

programas comunitarios para jovenes
This is a EU program that offers to young people between 15 and 25 years old, the possibility to travel to and participate actively in the construction of the Europe of the third millennium. Its aim is to contribute to the creation of a Europe of knowledge and create a European platform for cooperation in the development of a youth policy based on non-formal education. The program promotes also the concept of permanent learning and the development of abilities and competencies to favor the active participation of the citizens.

AGIS Program - "Cultures for the Prevention of Crime" Project

AGIS framework program of the European Commission on Police and Judicial Cooperation in Criminal Matters. This program offers help to boost judicial and police cooperation in criminal matters, and to support the efforts of the professionals to develop a European policy in this field, through co-operative projects.

"Cultures of Prevention" Project subsidized by the Directorate-General for Justice and Internal Affairs of the European Commission, in the framework of the Program AGIS 2004. Its aim is to organize several seminaries on cultural differences in the member States in the field of Prevention of Criminality.
Duration of the project: 18 months
Date of beginning: 01/12/2004
Date of end: 31/05/2006
