Zaragoza will present its foundation for 2016 during the meeting called by the Ministry for Culture
11/03/2009. On 31March, Madrid will hold a briefing meeting for candidate cities to European Capital of Culture
The delegation of Zaragoza, headed by Jerónimo Blasco, has already implemented different tasks such as technical assistance for the preparation of the candidacy and the creation of a municipal multidisciplinary team.
Zaragoza will be present at the meeting called by the Ministry for Culture in Madrid on 31 March, to inform candidate cities on the process to become European Capital of Culture 2016. The delegation, headed by the Councillor for Culture, Education and Large-Scale Projects, Jerónimo Blasco, will explain that Zaragoza has already created the foundation for boosting the project. In fact, the creation of this foundation will be passed on the plenary session to be hold on 27 March.
At the date of the meeting, on 31 March, Zaragoza also will have called the technical assistance for the preparation of the candidacy, the setting up of a municipal multidisciplinary team formed by seven members, and the design of a promotion plan.
The capital of Aragon will be present in this meeting - public opening of the candidacy process to European Capital of Culture- with a strong will to show its interest and work to the Ministry for Culture in order to increase its options to be elected. In fact, the presence of members of the international jury, of representatives of the European Commission, and of the General Director for Cultural Policies and Industries, Guillermo Corral, will be an opportunity for Zaragoza to show all the tasks made and to advance in the future development of the candidacy.
