Participation in Municipal Associations

ciudades ave UCLG (United Cities and Local Governments).
UCLG was created in 2004 after the merging of the International Union of Local Authorities (IULA), the World Federation of United Cities (WFUC), and Metropolis. Its mission is to be the united voice and world advocate of democratic local self-government, promoting its values, objectives and interests through cooperation between local governments in the international community. It has members in over 100 countries. Headquarters are in Barcelona, Spain.

ciudades ave CEMR (Council of European Municipalities and Regions).
The Council of European Municipalities and Regions was founded in Geneva in 1951 by a group of European mayors. It is the largest organisation of local and regional governments in Europe, and its members are national associations of towns, municipalities and regions from over 30 European countries. Its main aims are to promote a united Europe founded on local autonomy and democracy, and the defence of the role of local entities in the European integration. It has two headquarters: Paris and Brussels.

ciudades ave FEMP (Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces).
The Spanish Federation of Municipalites and Provinces is an association of local entities that groups city councils and provincial governments, with a total of more than 6,900 Spanish municipalities. It was considered as an association of public interest by agreement of the Council of Ministers of June 26, 1985. It is the Spanish section of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) and the official siege of the Latin American Organization of Intermunicipal Cooperation (OICI-Organización Iberoamericana de Cooperación Intermunicipal). Its headquarters are in Madrid, Spain.

ciudades ave FAMCP (Aragonese Federation of Municipalities, Counties and Provinces).
It was created in 1988 and is supported by approximately 600 municipalities of Aragon. Its objective is to defend the interests of local entities and local autonomy, and the development and consolidation of the democratic spirit in municipalities, based on the autonomy and solidarity among local entities. It forms part of the FEMP and its headquarters are in Zaragoza.
