Zaragoza the Conference City

The Z.C.B. is a body which, by coordinating the work of the public authorities, private companies and Institutions, promotes and drives the running of the tourist infrastructure to cater for conferences.The objective is for Zaragoza to acquire fame as a conference city both at home and abroad. To achieve this, we need to properly channel what we have to offer, structure our product, place it, advertise it, study our demand and mould it to the needs of our clients

As a consequence of all this, and with a view to achieving these objectives, a specialist department was set up in 1994 within the Municipal Tourist Board, in which various companies related to this type of activity participate; this department is known as the Zaragoza Convention Bureau.

The Zaragoza Convention Bureau counts on participation from the public and private sector and is the body which directs and coordinates the following aspects:

Planning of all the services in Zaragoza involved in these objectives.
Promotion of the city as a Conference venue.
Research into the conference market.
Monitoring potential conference activities and organisers.
Improving the activities and services of the Zaragoza Convention Bureau.
Programming a rational calendar of events, with no overlapping of dates.
Creating and maintaining a database containing all the events planned to be held in the city in the next few years.
Membership of any National or International Association whose aims are the promotion of the Conference, Convention or Incentives Market, taking part in its activities, through the Zaragoza Municipal Tourist Board.
Liasing with the members of the Z.C.B. and attracting new members.
Production and distribution of publications which include comprehensive information on the specific tourist infrastructure and specialist service companies.
Personal advice on organising a conference in Zaragoza, the best use of the city´s facilities, and facilitating contact with the required companies and professionals.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry, business associations and the Zaragoza City Council were the driving force behind the setting up of the Z.C.B. and the response from the private sector has been extremely positive, with 200 associate companies.
