Text

Ancient Roman construction with mudejar extension in the 14th century. The ground floor contained a nave, a five-sided apse and fine mudejar decoration. The restoration added a new, lower side nave which transformed the chapels in arches and housed the choir at the foot. The open tower is divided in three parts with the upper two covered in relief brickwork.

The church is linked to the re-conquest of the city.

Exterior: to be highlighted the beautiful apse and the open tower.

Interior: choir, chapels between buttresses and, in particular, the renaissance style main altarpiece, commissioned by Damián Forment.
