How Much International Variation in Child Height Can Sanitation Explain?
  • How Much International Variation in Child Height Can Sanitation Explain?
  • World Bank. February 2013
  • This paper documents the cross-country gradient between sanitation and child height that can statistically explain a large fraction of international height differences. It also documents the interaction between sanitation and population density, and contributes to a resolution of the puzzle of the "Asian enigma" of Indian stunting, which has received much recent attention from economists.
