  • This report analyses water related coordination mechanisms in 13 countries representing differing humanitarian and development situations and geographic locations. The information collected has been supplemented by selected case studies on coordination provided by UN-Water Members and Partners and an examination of the literature on coordination mechanisms of government for water supply, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and water resources management. It includes an introduction by UN-Water which explains the scope, purpose and benefit of its work, a summary of the UN-Water Sector Programmes and Coordination at Country Level and concludes with observations and recommendations by UN-Water. The report demonstrates the importance of collaborative approaches to water issues, through stakeholder, agency, government and community communication
