  • This second report is mainly concerned with assessing the progress made in preventing and controlling neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in relation to the targets and milestones in the WHO roadmap. This report also includes updated information on the distribution and impact of NTDs and their effects on women and children. Assessed water-related diseases include dracunculiasis (Guinea-worm disease) and Schistosomiasis among others. Chapter 4 makes a situation report of key interventions, including safe water, sanitation and hygiene.
