Zaragoza is a city with clear Mediterranean roots and a lively night life. Streets, squares and avenues fill with people having fun and willing to share their city, traditions, festivities and love of life with visitors to the city
Zaragoza by night offers possibilities to suit all tastes, with a variety of areas around the city for a good night out that are within a short distance of each other. You can dance to Spanish pop music, "pachanga", ska, rock, meringue, reggae, heavy, dance, chill-out, hip-hop, salsa and many more
A good time is guaranteed. Are you in?
"EL ROYO". This area, concentrated around C/ Moncasi, and close to the central Paseo de Sagasta, primarily features Spanish music, rock, heavy and punk. It is ideal for young people as the atmosphere is very, very informal and the bars are usually open until around 3 in the morning.
DOCTOR CERRADA. This central area, parallel with Gran Vía, is home to many discos, live performances, salsa bars and ambience.
LA ZONA. People heading to "La Zona", between Paseo de Sagasta and Avenida de la Constitución, will be able to enjoy a relaxing drink at the start of the evening in some of the city`s most fashionable bars and pubs. There is a wide variety of ambiences, from Spanish music to house or dance.
ALTERNATIVE AREAS. In C/ La Paz you can find some of the city`s most alternative and sophisticated pop music bars, and in the neighbouring area, comprising C/ San Juan de la Cruz and María Moliner, there are similar bars that also offer a permanent programme of live concerts
EL CASCO. Party time in the Old Town starts earlier these days, and that means that so does the fun in one of Zargoza`s biggest and liveliest areas. The busiest area is concentrated between Plaza San Felipe and Plaza de la Justicia, although there are bars all over "El Casco". The atmosphere is appropriate for all ages and tastes with a wide variety of musical styles. For those that want to party "El Casco" keeps going until the wee small hours.
BRETÓN. In Bretón, close to the university campus, it`s possible to have a quiet drink as its numerous good cafés and bars are frequented by a more mature public.
HEAVY ZONE. This area, adjacent to Bretón, is the smallest in Zaragoza but also the noisiest. As its name suggests, the beer flows and heavy metal rules
ZUMA. An informal atmosphere predominates in C/ Zumalacarregui, similar to that found in the nearby "Royo". The majority of the bars play rock music but there are also other styles such as reggae.
LA MAGDALENA. This is Zaragoza`s most eclectic and alternative area and it is also situated in the Old town around the Magdalena Tower. By night, this small melting pot is home to different styles of bars, from rock to reggae and modern Argonese groups.
LAS PLAYAS (The Beaches).. In the heart of the new Luis Buñuel Park, adjacent to the Expo site, there is a 16,500 square metre plot that features a beach made from silica sand surrounded by 200 palm trees. At night it is transformed into a multiple-ambience area with beach, chill-out and VIP zones. It is without doubt, one of the most fashionable and incomparable places in the city.
THE EBRO RIVER BANKS. This newly created area of bars and terraces spreads along the banks of the Ebro and is perfect for a relaxing drink and a chat, as the cool breeze wafts to the rhythm of chill-out music.
